In 1987, on the 40th anniversary of the Qing-Zhuang Campaign and the liberation of Cangzhou, the Cangzhou municipal government built a memorial park to commemorate these historic events — Cangzhou Victory Park — located on the west bank of the Grand Canal north of Xinhua Bridge in the urban area. The park covers an area of 2.5 hectares. - A stone stele inscribed with the general’s calligraphy “Victory Belongs to the People” stands at the park’s entrance, while the Monument to the Liberation of Cangzhou and the Qing-Zhuang Campaign soars dramatically into the sky, an imposing sight from afar. The monument embodies the smoke and fire of battle, symbolizing the spirit of the brave. Six vivid groups of sculpted figures capture the intensity of that fierce battle, preserving that moment in eternity. They depict the heroic scenes of soldiers and civilians fighting side by side against the enemy. The martyrs of the People's Liberation Army who sacrificed their lives during the Qing-Zhuang Campaign rest in the Martyrs' Cemetery on Glory Road west of the canal.

The establishment of Cangzhou Victory Park provides us with a meaningful place to mourn revolutionary martyrs and receive patriotic education. The solid and weighty “Victory Belongs to the People” stele and the soaring Monument to the Liberation of Cangzhou, which seems to cry out to the heavens, are built from the loyal bones and blood of the martyrs. They hold eternal cohesive power and inspiration for people today who enjoy happiness. For the martyrs who rest in this park, the people will never forget them — nor will they forget those who gave their precious lives for the liberation of the people and the founding of New China. The selfless and fearless spirit of these heroes will forever shine as brightly as the sun and the moon, enlightening future generations.

Travel Guide: Victory Park is adjacent to People’s Park to the west. Traveling south along the Grand Canal and crossing Xinhua Bridge, then heading west over Rainbow Bridge leads to Glory Road, which takes you directly to the Martyrs’ Cemetery. Continuing south along the Grand Canal to Liberation Bridge, then east along Liberation Road, you’ll find the Qingjing Grand Mosque and the Confucius Temple — both provincial-level cultural heritage sites in Hebei Province. Cangzhou is known as the “Home of Martial Arts,” and you can visit local martial arts schools for demonstrations and training. Traveling about 20 kilometers southeast along the Cang-Le Highway, you’ll reach the national cultural relic site of the Cangzhou Iron Lion. Heading west along National Highway 307 and the Shijiazhuang-Taiyuan Expressway to Cui'erzhuang, you’ll arrive at the hometown of Ji Xiaolan, chief editor of the Siku Quanshu in the late Qing Dynasty, and the Golden Silk Jujube Sightseeing Area.
