Jinan Happy Valley Wildlife Park, situated in the southern mountainous region of Jinan within Liubu Forest Park, is approximately 40 kilometers from downtown Jinan. It is divided into six main zones: the walking tour sightseeing area, forest leisure zone, herbivore area, predator area, comprehensive service area, and animal breeding and rearing center. The park houses over 150 species and more than 10,000 individual animals. With a total tour route of about 12 kilometers and over 10,000 meters of animal isolation fencing, it is currently the largest and most wild-featured forest wildlife kingdom in China. The park features over 100 attractions including the Sea Lion Pavilion, Songbird Valley, Ecological Wonders, Kangaroo Garden, Waterfowl Lake, Elephant House, and Crocodile Bay, highlighting the profound beauty of nature and the grandeur of the ecosystem.

The walking tour sightseeing area is surrounded by mountains and water, with a mix of pine and maple trees, integrating landscapes such as ecological wonders, monkey valley, sea lion performance pavilion, peacock garden, Australian ostrich park, crocodile bay, waterfowl lake, songbird valley, flower corridor, and rockery forest.

The forest leisure area can be reached by following the park’s internal road from the walking tour sightseeing area, leading directly to Wangyue Pavilion, spanning a total length of 5.2 kilometers. It is currently the largest forest walking tour area of its kind in China. Attractions such as the African Corridor, Weaving Bridge, Conscience Bridge, Hand-in-Hand Pavilion, Totem Garden, Animal Training Performance Pavilion, Qi Great Wall, Imperial Horse Pavilion, Sightseeing Corridor, and Wangyue Pavilion are distributed vertically along the terrain, creating a perfect harmony with the mountain and forest environment. Among them, the Animal Training Performance Pavilion features regularly scheduled shows by talented animal performers, offering visitors a visual treat. Wangyue Pavilion, located at the highest point in the park, is just 12 kilometers in a straight line from the sunrise viewing peak of Mount Tai. On clear days, the majestic view of Mount Tai is clearly visible.

The herbivore zone is the largest free-range area in Jinan Wildlife World. The area features dense woods, lush grass, and varied terrain with steep and gentle slopes connected to mountain basins. It serves as habitat for dozens of rare wild herbivores from 13 countries and regions across five continents, including antelope, camel, yak, takin, rhinoceros, wild ass, elephant, giraffe, zebra, ostrich, sika deer, elk, white-lipped deer, and white-tailed deer, covering a total area of 2.56 million square meters and forming a unique ecological landscape.

The predator zone is the most thrilling and exhilarating area for visitors, home to a concentration of fierce predators. Among them, the king of beasts—the tiger—is represented by multiple subspecies including the Northeast Tiger, Bengal Tiger, and White Tiger, with the White Tiger being particularly rare. Also found here are lions from Africa; black bears and brown bears, which may appear docile but possess astonishing strength; cheetahs, the champions of short-distance sprinting; as well as wolves and foxes—all of which have formed their own family groups within the zone.

The animal breeding center has hired nationally recognized experts with extensive experience in wildlife breeding and rearing to provide comprehensive health care for the animals in the park.

Transportation

1. The Happy Valley Tourist Shuttle departs from the long-distance bus terminal and can be boarded at various bus stops along Dawei’er Road and Yingxiongshan Road.

2. Take bus No. 67 directly to Lijiatang, where you can transfer to the Happy Valley shuttle.

3. After arriving at Lijiatang, you can continue on to Taokou Village and take the Happy Valley cable car to tour the wildlife world.
