Jiuru Mountain Waterfall Cluster is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Jiuru Mountain Waterfall Cluster Scenic Area is characterized by its natural landscape, integrating eco-tourism, leisure entertainment, and wellness retreats. It stands as a model of harmony between humans and nature. Located approximately 48 kilometers from downtown Jinan, it borders Zhangqiu City to the east and Laiwu City and Tai’an City to the south. With a vegetation coverage rate of over 97% and a negative oxygen ion concentration of over 70,000 per cubic centimeter—ranking first in Jinan—the area spans 36 square kilometers. It is divided into four major tourism zones: the Deep Pool and Flying Waterfall Scenic Area, the Jiuru Gorge Scenic Area, the Tianpeng Waterfall Scenic Area, and the Great Wall Ancient Path Scenic Area. The continuous mountain ranges, layered peaks, crisscrossing valleys, dense forests, abundant mountain springs, interlacing streams, and clustered waterfalls form a breathtaking landscape, all ingeniously connected by the world’s longest wooden plank walkway. This creates a rare large-scale ecological nature reserve in northern China, featuring eight pools, nine waterfalls, twenty-four springs, and thirty-six peaks as its core sights, and characterized by its mountains, plank paths, springs, streams, waterfalls, and deep pools. It is also the source of the seventy-two famous springs of Jinan and one of the three rivers in southern Jinan’s mountainous region—the Jinxian River.

Jiuru Gorge is the core area of the Jiuru Mountain Waterfall Cluster, home to numerous rare northern landscapes. Dozens of waterfalls cascade dramatically from great heights. Ancient vines intertwine overhead, while mountain streams gush through the valleys, accompanying visitors all the way up to the Heavenly Lake to admire the tender beauty of Jiuru Mountain’s summit. The area also features two high-mountain springs, Xiaoxue Spring and Daxue Spring, both exceptionally refreshing. At an altitude of 868 meters stands Wuting (Pavilion-less), where visitors can lean on the railing, gaze at the endless mountain ranges, watch the undulating pine waves, and immerse themselves in the beauty of nature. The estimated visiting time for this area is about 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Tianpeng Waterfall Scenic Area features the most precipitous cliffside plank paths in Jiuru Mountain, offering breathtaking views. It boasts the highest-drop Tianpeng Waterfall, perfect for an emotional immersion, as well as the highest-altitude Guyu Spring to cleanse your body and mind. There is also a black pine forest oxygen bar with negative oxygen ion levels reaching up to 70,000/cm³, providing you with fresh, oxygen-rich air. Complementing the area are the Dahan, Xiaohan, and Dongzhi Springs that gush forth, the Flying Stone precariously clinging to the cliffs, and the Mengqiu Pavilion offering sweeping vistas. The Tianpeng Waterfall Scenic Area opens up a tranquil world, waiting for like-minded visitors to explore. The estimated visiting time for this area is about 1 hour and 30 minutes.

The Qi Great Wall was built by Duke Huan of Qi to defend against military invasions from the states of Lu, Chu, and other Central Plains powers. It also served as the boundary between the states of Qi and Lu, and has a history of over 2,000 years. Starting from Changqing, the Qi Great Wall extends eastward to the coastal area of Huangdao District, Qingdao City, spanning 18 counties, cities (districts), crossing 1,518 mountains, with a total length of 1,237.8 li (approximately 618.9 km), historically referred to as the “Thousand-Li Great Wall.” Built more than 400 years earlier than the Qin Great Wall, it is hailed as the “Father of the Great Wall of China.” The estimated visiting time for this area is about 2 hours and 20 minutes.

I. Self-driving Routes from Outside the City:

(1) Via the Southern Section of the Jiqing Expressway or the Jilai Expressway: Exit at Jinan Gangou, proceed straight along Gangjiu Road to Jiuqu, turn left and go east along Provincial Highway 327 to Xiyang Town, then continue east to Jiuru Mountain.

(2) Via the Beijing–Fuzhou Expressway, Jihé Expressway, or Jiliao Expressway: Exit at the Southern Entrance of the Jinan Ring Expressway, proceed straight along National Highway 103 to Zhonggong Bridge, turn left and go straight along Provincial Highway 327 to Jiuru Mountain.
