Baliyu Farmstead

Baliyu Farmstead organically combines sightseeing agriculture with ecological farming, integrating tourism, leisure, and dining. It serves as a model for the future development of agritainment and has received high praise from provincial, municipal, and district leaders.

The farmstead is located 10 kilometers from downtown Jinan and is adjacent to Provincial Highway 327. It boasts well-developed infrastructure, including a 4-kilometer-long, 5-meter-wide mountain-looping cement road, a power distribution room, and a small reservoir, achieving connectivity in “water, electricity, and roads.” The environment is exceptionally beautiful, with over 80,000 red-leaf trees, tens of thousands of sunflowers, and more than 10,000 pumpkins planted. There are also loofah corridors, pumpkin corridors, and sponge gourd corridors, creating an ecotourism landscape that offers “one scenic view per valley, flowers in three seasons, and evergreen foliage all year round.” The project has had a significant demonstration effect—since its completion and opening, it has attracted numerous sightseeing visitors, receiving over 1,000 tourists daily. Local villagers have also increased their income by growing vegetables, flowers, grass, and raising chickens within the farmstead. In 2006, the per capita net income of the entire village’s farmers exceeded 5,000 yuan for the first time.

Currently, the second phase of construction at Baliyu Farmstead is underway. Plans include developing an 800-acre agricultural sightseeing park, 12 ecological agriculture corridors, and over 20 traditional rural farmsteads, as well as hosting events such as the Sunflower Festival, Pumpkin Festival, and Fruit Picking Festival, aiming to make the scenic area a utopia where visitors can “enjoy homegrown meals, stay in peaceful farmhouse lodgings, admire mountain flowers across the seasons, and taste premium fruits from the estate.” Additionally, Liujia Village has used Baliyu Farmstead as a platform and adopted a shareholding system through the “farmstead + farmer” model and community equity participation to establish the “Jinan Baliyu Ecological Agriculture Sightseeing Rural Cooperative,” guiding the entire village toward the path of shared prosperity.
