Jinan Shui Sheng Yuan Folk Culture Park is a farmstay that combines dining, leisure, and entertainment. The first impression upon entering the park is the abundance of flowers and trees. A variety of blossoms are in full bloom—red, yellow, pink—while bees buzz busily among the petals. Green trees form the scenic backdrop of the park. Spanning less than 30 acres, the garden is home to tens of thousands of plants, including walnut trees, pines, magnolia, and holly. Strolling along the paths through the foliage offers a unique delight. Different vegetation adorns the park, changing their “attire” with the seasons. Though leaves may fall, the park remains evergreen all year round. Green is the spirit of this place, forming its distinctive charm and character. In spring, flowers bloom and tender buds emerge, creating a vibrant and energetic scene; in summer, lush trees provide dense shade, keeping the heat at bay; in autumn, fruits hang abundantly and the laughter of harvest fills the air; in winter, snowflakes flurry while the pines stand proudly alone.

To the right after crossing the bridge stands an elegantly styled bamboo pavilion, with glass and gauze windows on all sides, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the surrounding scenery. In front are stout walnut trees and tall poplars, and the space can accommodate over a hundred guests. The first row of buildings is tucked away within the greenery. Sitting inside, one can’t help but admire the ingenuity of the design—the three walls are inlaid with glass, and the first thing you see when you look out is an expanse of verdant trees, lush and dripping with vitality, making the entire building appear immersed in green. On rainy days, listening to the patter of rain, watching the trees sway in the wind, as raindrops play with the leaves, and breathing in the fresh air, one feels an inexplicable urge to linger. Further in are guest rooms of another style, complete with dining and sleeping areas where you can rest. The rear garden is planted with cedar, holly, and other greenery, along with a vegetable patch, and features quaint, classic-style houses that add a special charm. All rooms are equipped with facilities such as solar water heaters and air conditioners, offering a fairly high standard. In the dining area, shaded by green trees, the foliage serves as a natural curtain, surrounded by leafy canopies and lush grass, creating a picturesque scene where the room nestles within greenery and people seem to be part of a painting. In the courtyard, there’s a stream paved with cobblestones, with clear water meandering along and fish swimming cheerfully within.

Upon visiting Shui Sheng Yuan Folk Culture Park, you’ll definitely want to try the green food here. At the back of the yard are rows of vegetables—all pollution-free and 100% green—that make for delicious dishes. Bitter herbs, purslane, lamb’s quarters, elm seeds, and Chinese toon from the mountains are all tasty treats. Small river shrimp, mountain eggs, free-range chicken, wild rabbit, river fish, as well as local specialties like pancakes and tofu, are all exceptionally flavorful. Sitting in a room surrounded by greenery, enjoying a table full of fresh vegetables, raising your glass to taste farm-style snacks, watching the babbling brook by the river, feeling the cool breeze, and chatting with old friends about life—far from the hustle and bustle of the city, you’ll find both comfort and leisure, making the trip feel truly worthwhile.
