The Bronze Mountain Grand Canyon Scenic Area is situated at the southern foot of Bronze Mountain, north of Laozhuang Village, Jinxiuchuan, Licheng District — the "back garden" of Jinan City. Based on the rich historical and cultural value of the Great Buddha Grottoes and the beautiful mountain-valley landscape, and centered around the "Millennium Buddha" as a symbol of fortune and the "Hundred-Million-Year-Old Karst Cave" as a natural wonder, it integrates and enhances the cultural essence of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism. This scenic area has been developed to revive a modern spiritual pilgrimage site and to create a landmark embodying the spirit of the Chinese nation. The area features numerous attractions including the Largest Buddha in Shandong, the Chinese Dragon Gate, the Nine-Dragon Wall, the Old Man Under the Moon, Yuanbao Mountain, the God of Wealth, a Children’s Playground, the Jinxiu Palace Karst Cave, wooden walkways, a 7D Glass Suspension Bridge, a glass walkway, the Galaxy Restaurant, the Galaxy Waterfall, Blessed Caverns, another glass walkway, and a glass slide. There is now a saying: “Worship the Millennium Buddha, explore the blessed fairyland, climb the sky ladder walkways, and enter the Hundred-Million-Year-Old Karst Cave.” With its majestic heights, sacred atmosphere, splendid grandeur, awe-inspiring presence, and breathtaking views, it is truly magnificent.

Highlight Attraction: Jinxiu Palace Karst Cave

Jinan’s first karst cave featuring uniquely shaped stalactites, stretching approximately 2,500 meters in total, with 1,000 meters currently open to the public. Entering the Bronze Mountain Grand Canyon is like stepping into a fairyland. The stalactites and dripping water within the cave maintain a constant year-round temperature of 18°C. The Galaxy Waterfall in the canyon features crystal-clear waters, interconnected pools and cascades, creating a picturesque aquatic landscape of waterfalls, springs, pools, and streams — making it an ideal summer retreat. The cave is incredibly cool, with abundant underground water maintaining a constant 18°C year-round, about 20°C cooler than the city, akin to a natural air conditioner. The diverse and spectacular stalactites, stalagmites, stone pillars, and draperies make you feel like you’ve entered a celestial jade pool — the perfect choice for summer cooling and leisure.

Historical & Cultural Highlight: Largest Buddha in Shandong

The Great Buddha was initially carved during the Tang Dynasty and has survived over 1,400 years of historical change, earning recognition as part of the eighth batch of National Key Historical and Cultural Relics Protection Units. The Buddha's solemn expression and slightly deep-set eyes convey a sense of majesty and reverence. Nine smaller Buddha statues are arranged around the main figure inside the grotto, beneath which a stone stele is engraved. The grotto is situated on the cliffs of Daxiang Mountain at the southern foot of Bronze Mountain, standing approximately 9.5 meters high and extending about 4.5 meters deep, with the main Buddha reaching 8 meters in height and seated atop a 1.5-meter-high pedestal. Daxiang Mountain earned its name due to its resemblance to an elephant, and since the Great Buddha is carved directly beneath the “eye” of this “elephant,” a local legend says: “The elephant guards the mysterious Buddha, while the lion watches over the bottomless cave.”

Challenge Attraction 1: Cliff-Hanging Glass Walkway

The first cliff-hanging glass walkway in Shandong Province, stretching 208 meters in length and suspended about 130 meters above the ground. Made of ultra-white tempered laminated glass, walking across it gives visitors the sensation of “floating clouds beneath your feet and playful winds beside you,” offering a heavenly and serene experience. The Bronze Mountain Grand Canyon Glass Walkway is also the longest and most thrilling glass walkway in the Jinan area.

Challenge Attraction 2: 7D Glass Bridge

China’s first 7D special effects glass bridge, and the first in East China to span a 356-meter chasm and tower 130 meters above a deep gorge. The two peaks are steep and the cliffs are sheer, with a yawning valley between them. On clear, sunny days, walking across the bridge offers panoramic views of the Bronze Mountain Grand Canyon, making you feel as if you’re walking on air — thrilling and awe-inspiring. When the valley is shrouded in mist and cloud, strolling across the bridge feels like walking among the clouds or on a sky bridge in the heavens.

Challenge Attraction 3: Glass Slide

The glass slide stretches 480 meters in length with a vertical drop of 88 meters. Designed in an S-shape along the mountain terrain, it offers twists, turns, hidden sections, and exhilarating thrills — making it one of the best choices for fun in the scenic area.

Supporting Service: Galaxy Restaurant

The Galaxy Restaurant is located within the Bronze Mountain Grand Canyon Scenic Area. After exiting the Jinxiu Palace Karst Cave, take a leisurely stroll along the wooden walkway — as if entering a primeval forest. After about 15 minutes, follow the scenic area signage to reach the Galaxy Restaurant.

The luxurious and elegant Galaxy Restaurant meets five-star standards, offering guests the experience of “dining with breathtaking scenery.” The restaurant can accommodate 300 guests simultaneously, with round tables available for group meals and 4–6-seat booths for smaller parties. Visitors can choose from set meals, stir-fried dishes, dumplings, noodles, wontons, and other snacks.
