The Thousand Buddha Cave is located at the northern foot of Thousand Buddha Mountain and is one of its major attractions, built in 1992. It brings together the essence of China's four great grottoes: Dunhuang, Longmen, Maijishan, and Yungang. Through careful selection, refinement, and reconstruction by artists, nearly 30,000 figures including the Buddha, bodhisattvas, disciples, and heavenly kings have been created using imitation techniques. The largest reclining Buddha is 28 meters long, while the large Buddha standing in front of the cave is 15 meters tall. The walls inside the cave feature over 10,000 square meters of murals, each showcasing distinct styles — some exquisitely magnificent, others ruggedly majestic, subtly elegant, or grandly bold — collectively reflecting the artistic charm of China’s grotto sculpture. It opens a historical gateway for later generations to explore past civilizations.

The Thousand Buddha Cave consists of four sections: the Dunhuang Collection, the Essence of Longmen, the Wonders of Maijishan, and the Highlights of Yungang. The cave stretches 500 meters and documents the evolution of Buddhism in China, embodying profound cultural significance.
