Temple of Qin Qiong at Five Dragon Pool

The Temple of Qin Qiong at Five Dragon Pool is a cultural tourism attraction.

Located within Five Dragon Pool Park, it chronicles the life of Qin Qiong, a great general of the Tang Dynasty. However, recent archaeological findings suggest this was not actually his home—his residence is believed to have been in the old western part of the city.

Five Dragon Pool Park is located at the northwest corner outside the west gate of Jinan’s old city, by the moat and opposite Baotu Spring Park. It can be considered the center of Jinan’s old town. Numerous attractions such as the Guan Yu Temple, the Temple of Qin Qiong, Jiangjia Pond, Crescent Spring, and the former site of the underground Shandong Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Party are clustered here. The park showcases the beauty of Jinan as the “City of Springs,” where “spring water flows over stone.” Together with Baotu Spring Park, Daming Lake Park, and the City Moat Park (the moat itself), Five Dragon Pool Park forms the core of Jinan’s spring-themed sightseeing route.

The Temple of Qin Qiong is located within Five Dragon Pool Park. Although it is a newly built structure, it’s still worth visiting to learn about this legendary figure from Licheng in Jinan, known as the chivalrous 18th Warrior from the classic novel “The Romance of Sui and Tang.”
