Gangcheng Dawenhe National Wetland Park

Gangcheng Dawenhe National Wetland Park is a national AAA-level tourist attraction and a national wetland park.

Dawenhe National Wetland Park is located in Gangcheng District, with a planned total area of 687.74 hectares and a wetland coverage rate of 90.40%. The watershed area extends from the source of the Dawenhe River at Maotou Mountain on the northern foothills of XuanGu Mountain in the southeast to Panlong Bridge at the border with Laicheng District in the northwest. The terrain within the wetland park is higher in the east and lower in the west. The southern area along the Dawenhe River mainly consists of low mountains and hills, while the northern bank features some river valley plains. The source of the wetland park, Maotou Mountain, has an elevation of 555 meters, while the downstream section where the Dawenhe River meets Laicheng District is at 196 meters, with a drop of nearly 350 meters and a terraced slope gradient.

The Dawenhe National Wetland Park stretches approximately 15 kilometers in length. Within the park, scenic areas such as Wenshui Bay, Wenshui Beach, Wenshui Square, Wenshui Charm, and Wenshui Wetland (Jiulong Wetland) have been developed, along with 12 bridges including Ren’ai Bridge, Yi’ai Bridge, Li’ai Bridge, and Zhi’ai Bridge. The “Two Corridors” feature six major love-themed parks: Aishan Park, Shuanglongshan Park, Shuangfengshan Park, Gangcheng Children’s Park, Gangcheng Botanical Garden, and Love Aircraft Carrier Park.

The entire wetland park is themed around “love,” fully showcasing elements of the Dawenkou Culture, steel industry culture, the loving spirit of Gangcheng, and Chinese red motifs. It has become an open “urban waterfront cultural park” that integrates leisure, nature, water activities, and culture, attracting a continuous stream of visitors and photography enthusiasts.
