Lüzuquan Village

A provincial-level featured tourism village. Located 10 kilometers north of Xueye Lake, it is embraced by green trees and backed by verdant mountains, nestled by hills and waters with picturesque scenery. The village still preserves a clear spring said to have been created by the immortal Lü Dongbin—Lüzuquan. The spring is 1.5 meters deep, with a constant flow of cool, sweet water all year round. The village also hosts a national 3A-level tourist attraction—Lüzuquan Scenic Area. Legend has it that the Eight Immortals, including Lü Dongbin and Han Zhongli, once lived here, making it an ecological leisure resort rich in Eight Immortals culture and equipped with modern tourism facilities. Every late May, the scenic area holds the "Chunyang Festival" (Mulberry Festival). During the mulberry harvest season, the purple berries covering the mountains are a feast for the eyes. With murmuring springs and a tranquil ancient village, Lüzuquan has become a blessed land for seeking immortals, exploring nature, leisure travel, fitness, and wellness.

According to the "Zhu Family Genealogy Stele," in the late Yuan Dynasty, Lü Dongbin, who traveled here, saw the lack of water in the area and created a spring, naming it Lügongquan. Later, out of gratitude to Lüzu, people renamed it Lüzuquan. Beside the spring is a well connected to it, carved deep into the rock crevice. On the massive stone at the mouth of the well, 23 deep grooves worn by centuries of well ropes are clearly visible. In front of the well stand several ancient willows, lush and graceful with swaying branches. The village still has many century-old houses, adorned with brick carvings and stone engravings, featuring white walls and black tiles that exude a strong sense of antiquity. Another spring in the village—Baishuiquan, named for its white water flowing from atop a sandy and stony hill, remains continuously flowing, warm in winter and cool in summer.

Following the spring downhill, a long, winding, and crystal-clear stream leads visitors into Lüzuquan Village, which boasts a history of over 600 years. The bluestone-paved path running through the entire village, polished smooth as a mirror by the wheels of carts and the flow of water, bears deep ruts—a testament to a time of bustling trade and historic endurance. Close your eyes, and you can almost hear the creak of wooden carts rolling over the stones. Here, looking up at the greenery, down at the water, breathing in the fragrance of flowers and listening to birdsong, Lüzuquan Village feels especially rustic and natural. As the saying goes, "No mountain is truly spiritual without its immortal." The villagers follow Taoism, and the Tongtian Palace welcomes a continuous stream of worshippers daily, with flourishing incense offerings.

Green trees embrace the village, and verdant mountains rise beyond—the landscape is nestled by hills and waters, picturesque. In spring, wildflowers bloom among the trees, and flocks of birds flit about. Red peach blossoms, white pear blossoms, yellow winter jasmine, and forsythia are dotted throughout the vibrant hills. In summer, dappled tree shade, bubbling springs, murmuring streams, and abundant wild fruits offer a cool retreat and an ideal spot for fruit picking. In autumn, climbing to higher ground reveals shimmering lake views, birdsong, leaping fish, and the fragrance of autumn orchids—a breathtaking scene. In winter, snow blankets the land, turning trees into crystal flowers under the pure, bright sunlight.
