Xueye Lake

Xueye Lake is a national AAA-level tourist attraction, a national water conservancy scenic area, and a national wetland park.

Xueye Lake is located in the northern part of Laiwu City. With convenient transportation, beautiful scenery, and abundant resources, it is the main attraction of the Xueye Tourist Resort. It is also the largest body of water within the 50-kilometer urban circle of Jinan, covering a surface area of 15 square kilometers. The lake boasts vast waters, a winding shoreline, and is surrounded by rolling mountains and lush forests, creating a harmonious landscape of mountains and water. Scenic spots around the lake include the Aviation Science and Technology Sports Park, Golden Beach Bathing Beach, and Wenchang Pavilion. Within the surrounding area, there are A-level scenic spots such as the Xueye Agricultural Expo Park, Fanggan Scenic Area, Xueye Three Gorges, and Lüzuquan. Additionally, the Xueye Fish Head and Xueye Fish Banquet, which primarily use organic silver carp from Xueye Lake as the main ingredient, are widely renowned.

The Xueye Lake Recreational Fisheries Park has a total planned area of over 1,500 acres, including the Wenchang Island, Xueyuanchang Fishing Village, Wenchang Cultural Park areas, and water bodies, covering a total land area of 140 acres. The fishable water area spans 18,000 acres. It has been developed into a recreational fisheries tourism destination that integrates leisure fishing, water sports, fisheries activity experiences, entertainment and shopping, and science education.

Tour Route: Exit at Xueye on G2 (Jinan-Laiwu-Qingdao) Expressway → National 4A-level Scenic Spot Xueye Agricultural Expo Park (watch the piglet sports meet and the crocodile vs. human show, about 1 hour), Science and Technology Vegetable Garden (children’s acrobatic show, about 20 minutes), Tropical Fruit Garden (bird performance and magic show, about 30 minutes), Ginger Garden, Flower Garden, and participate in a variety of enriching team-building activities to fully experience the mysterious charm of exotic southern vibes. Tourist Service Center: The Xueye Tourist Area has attracted investment from several strong enterprise groups, including Evergrande Group and Shandong Hi-Speed, to develop tourism projects. Notably, the Evergrande Tourism Town will feature the largest indoor children’s entertainment center in the province.

Take bus K204 in the city and get off at the Aviation Science and Technology Sports Park stop.

Self-Driving Guide:

About 1 kilometer east of the Xueye exit on the Jiqing South Expressway, you can see the lake.
