Study Place of Zhongzi

The Study Place of Zhongzi is a cultural relic protection unit of Tai’an City.

The Study Place of Zhongzi is located in Zilu Village, Banjiudian Town, Dongping County. Also known as the "Zilu Shrine," it was first built in the fourth year of the Jiayou era during the Song Dynasty and has been repaired through various dynasties since then. It covers an area of approximately 46,000 square meters. Oriented west to east and built along the mountainside, it consists of a two-courtyard complex arranged along a central axis that includes the main gate, the second gate, and the main hall of the Zhongzi Shrine, flanked by tile-roofed side halls on both sides, forming a well-structured architectural complex. The main hall, the Zhongzi Shrine, is a mountain-facing structure with a three-bay width, gray-tiled roof, and overhanging eaves with dripping tiles. The main gate features a plaque inscribed with “Study Place of Zhongzi,” written by Liu Hong’en during the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty. The Study Place of Zhongzi is a municipal-level cultural relic protection unit.
