Beijicheng Wetland combines the charm of a water town with Song Dynasty-style architecture, recreating the look of a fishing village from the Song era. In front lies a vast expanse of glistening water dotted with green reeds, creating a tranquil water town scene. Behind are lotus ponds and streams, offering a classic countryside view. In the aquatic plant viewing area, waterside pavilions and wooden boardwalks lead visitors deep into the lush greenery, where they can linger to their heart’s content. Over the emerald waters, a 200-meter-long fishing shoreline lies quietly amid a sea of green—distant reeds and nearby pink lotuses provide a serene setting for peaceful fishing. 2. Shijie Village Film and Television Base

In April 2010, to support the shooting of the new TV series “Water Margin,” the wetland invested over 15 million yuan to build the Shijie Village Water Town Film and Television Base. The base includes one Temple of the Water God, 28 sets of Song Dynasty-style wooden structures, as well as various scenic features such as waterwheels, wooden bridges, wooden corridors, wooden pavilions, and stone pavilions. Surrounded by water on all sides nearby and backed by rolling hills in the distance, the site offers beautiful scenery where mountain and water blend seamlessly. It also enjoys convenient transportation and exudes a distinctive fishing village charm and rustic appeal, further enhancing its capacity to host film and television productions. This scenic area has served as a filming location for several TV dramas, including the new version of “Water Margin,” “Chor Lau-heung,” “Swordsman: Love & Justice,” and “The Case Files of Judge Bao.”

3. Dongping Lake — The Second Largest Freshwater Lake in Shandong Province

Located in the lower reaches of the Yellow River, Dongping Lake has long been known as the “Little Dongting Lake.” In ancient times, the vast Liangshan Marsh spanned eight hundred li, filled with dense reeds and countless waterways. The classic literary masterpiece “Water Margin” was filmed here, authentically recreating the original landscape of crisscrossing waters, endless reeds, and sprawling lotus flowers.
