The Baimu Mountain Han Tombs Cluster

Located on Baimu Mountain to the west of Baisongshan Village, Banjiudian Town, Dongping County. Legend has it that there were over a hundred Han Dynasty tombs in the vicinity of the mountain, hence the mountain is commonly known as "Baimu Mountain" (Hundred Tombs Mountain). Among them is a tomb discovered in recent years, which is a medium-sized, fully stone-structured Han Dynasty pictorial stone chamber tomb. The tomb chamber is intact, but the burial objects were looted long ago. It is nearly 9 meters long from north to south, 6 meters wide from east to west, and nearly 3 meters high. The tomb entrance faces east and is divided into several sections: the front chamber, rear chamber, and left and right side chambers, with a corridor outside the rear chamber. The pictorial carvings are mainly distributed on the front chamber and the left and right side chambers. The content includes scenes of paying homage, music and dance, harvest, white tigers, the Xiangxiangshi (an exorcist figure), and Wu Zhu coins. Both bas-relief and flat line engraving techniques are used. The middle stone pillar in the front chamber is inscribed with eight clerical script characters: “此人马皆食大仓” (This man and horse both feed from the great granary). The Baimu Mountain Han Tombs Cluster is a municipal-level cultural relic protection unit.
