Dongwanglin (Tomb of Wang Xian)

Dongwanglin (Tomb of Wang Xian) is a cultural relic protection unit of Tai’an City.

It is situated on the hillside in front of Wangshan Mountain, west of Timen Village, Timen Township, Dongping County. The tomb mound is 1.5 meters high and 6.5 meters in diameter. In front stands a tomb stele erected in the 19th year of the Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty, inscribed with “Tomb of Wang Gong, Duke of Jing Mountain, Grand Tutor, Grand Guardian of the Heir Apparent, Minister of War, Duke of Shaobao, posthumously honored as Kangyi, and granted the title of Duke of Light.” On the spirit way in front of the tomb, there are still extant a pair of stone figures, stone horses, stone sheep, and stone tigers, standing upright in opposition on both sides, all of large stature, with the stone civil and military officials nearly 3.5 meters tall. There is also a partially surviving stone memorial archway and a pair of ornamental columns. The original tomb area included a stone gate, forest wall, spirit way stele, and cypress trees, all of which were destroyed during the Cultural Revolution. Dongwanglin (Tomb of Wang Xian) is a municipal-level cultural relic protection unit.
