Sea-Viewing Rock – Sea of Clouds Jade Plate

In summer, right after the rain clears, a large amount of water vapor evaporates and rises. Coupled with the warm air from the sea in summer being held at an altitude of around 1,500 meters by high-pressure airflow, if there is no wind, you can see vast expanses of white clouds spread out over Mount Tai’s summit, resembling a gigantic jade plate suspended between heaven and earth.

The distant mountains are entirely swallowed by the clouds, with only a few peaks poking through; nearby, visitors seem to be walking on clouds, as if arriving in another world. When a gentle breeze blows, ripples form on the sea of clouds, and the peaks appear and disappear intermittently like mysterious fairy islands. When the wind picks up, the jade plate transforms into a giant dragon, soaring and plunging, churning the seas and mountains.

Sea-Viewing Rock is a protruding, oddly shaped boulder located at the summit of Mount Tai. Measuring 6.5 meters in length, it is one of the mountain’s iconic features and also one of the best spots to watch the sunrise. From here, you can enjoy the spectacular view of the Sea of Clouds Jade Plate.
