TaiShan District is located to the west of New Taipei City and is one of the satellite cities of Greater Taipei. About 70% of its area consists of hills and rivers. Yixuekeng Natural Ecological Park is a natural hillside park covering approximately 17 hectares. Designed with minimal facilities, the park features various sports equipment and serves as the central hub of the Taishan hiking trail network, making it convenient for visitors to access sites such as Mingzhi Academy, Butterfly Corridor, and Upper Taishan Rock. A hiking trail from the entrance leads all the way to the mountaintop wooden boardwalk, shaded by green trees and accompanied by birdsong — perfect for a leisurely hike with friends to enjoy the scenery.

The Qiongzi Lake Park Trail is a mountain-side path featuring steps and wooden boardwalks. It leads to attractions such as the Summit Mountain, Summit Park, Upper Taishan Rock, and Yixuekeng. Stroll through lush green forests and pass by historical ruins along the way. When you need a rest, pavilions and temples offer a place to take a break.

Claimed to be the largest night market in Taipei, Fu Jen Garden Night Market features a department store section with general goods, clothing, and brand-name counters. The games area includes pinball machines, dart games, bidding zones, tic-tac-toe, and even bumper cars — a large amusement ride not commonly found at other night markets. The food section offers authentic traditional snacks, international cuisine, a variety of specialty drinks, and desserts — a diverse selection that will keep travelers coming back for more.

Built in the 19th year of the Qianlong Emperor’s reign during the Qing Dynasty, Upper Taishan Rock is the oldest temple in the Taishan area and is now listed as a national third-grade historic site. Its architecture showcases the beauty of traditional craftsmanship and is rich in auspicious symbolism. Nearby lies the Qitou Trail, a famous ancient path in Taishan that also leads to Yixuekeng and Mingzhi Academy — allowing visitors to explore the cultural heritage of Taishan in one go.
