Formed by the convergence of the Luhu Stream, Luchang Stream, and Fengmei Stream, Shenxian Valley has been carved by years of flowing water into unique canyon landscapes. It also features spectacular suspension bridges and beautiful waterfalls, and served as a filming location for the movie *Seediq Bale*. It’s a great spot for travelers to go hiking and enjoy the forest’s fresh air.

Yunshui Resort Forest was voted one of the top ten secret spots for bald cypress trees. When winter arrives, the vast bald cypress forest within the resort turns red, resembling a miniature version of the famous Xiaoyunshan landscape. Covering nearly 5 hectares, the area was formerly known as Dongjiang Hot Spring Leisure Garden. After renovation and redecoration, it has become a resort suitable for family outings.

Located in Tai’an Township, Miaoli, this area is home to many campsites, and nestled within the mountains lies a narrow bamboo forest path only wide enough for a single car—offering a taste of Chinese landscape aesthetics and the serene beauty of Arashiyama’s secluded woods. Additionally, located above the bamboo forest trail is the Wujiayan Scenic Camping Area, where you can enjoy brilliant sunshine and ever-changing sea of clouds. The glittering night scenery offers a luxurious natural beauty that’s well worth a visit.

At Miaoli’s Houlong Good Viewpoint, you can watch the trains on the coastal railway line pass by—reminiscent of small electric trains from abroad. The short trains slowly roll by at a leisurely pace, while the nearby fields resemble the rural landscapes of Japan. Gazing out at the panoramic view of the railway track presents yet another kind of charm.
