A group of 20 hikers from the Taishan Hiking Club headed to the Huangdi Temple Scenic Area in Shiding District around 10 a.m. today (15th). Near the Xiaocukeng trailhead, two men and one woman were reportedly stung by hornets. The three were sent to Wanfang Hospital for emergency treatment and are conscious with no serious injuries.
The Fourth Division of the Fire Department advised that when engaging in mountain activities, it’s best to wear long-sleeved clothing, long pants, and a hat, avoid wearing perfume or cosmetics, and if encountering hornets, stay calm and leave the area quickly. Do not swat or try to drive them away. If a beehive is found at home, do not attempt to remove it yourself—notify firefighters for assistance to prevent danger.
