Tai Shan Chaoyang Cave

Chaoyang Cave is located to the northwest of Wusong Pavilion. It is a natural rock cave with its entrance facing the sun, hence the name. It was once called Yingyang Cave but was renamed in the Ming Dynasty to its current name. The cave is as deep as a house and can accommodate over 20 people. Originally, a statue of the Goddess Yuanjun was enshrined inside. The area outside the cave is spacious, with ancient pines standing gracefully and a sheer cliff to the east. On the northeast cliff face is carved the "Chaoyang Cave Poem" by Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty. The stele is 20 meters high and 9 meters wide, with characters one meter square, known as the "Ten Thousand Zhang Stele" or also referred to as the "Qing Dynasty Cliff Inscription."
