Liuhang Village, Taishan District

The Lüliu Vegetable Association of Liuhang Village, Taishan District, Tai’an City was established in May 2008. It built greenhouse facilities to grow organic vegetables. The association currently has 524 members, covering a land area of over 1,000 mu, with 65 standard greenhouses constructed. In 2008, the product trademark “Shuonong” was registered, and in 2009, the products received China Green Food Certification. The main crops include organic, green, and pollution-free vegetables such as Chinese chives, tomatoes, and spinach. These have attracted urban residents from nearby Tai’an and even further cities like Jinan and Laiwu to visit, pick, and purchase. The number of annual visitors to the demonstration site has been increasing year by year. According to incomplete statistics, this year the site has already welcomed over 100,000 visitors. The Lüliu Vegetable Professional Cooperative has gradually gained recognition and familiarity among the general public, with its social visibility steadily expanding. The organically grown vegetables have entered retail markets for sale, creating considerable economic benefits for the local community. The project has also encouraged surrounding villages to gradually expand the cultivation area of organic and pollution-free vegetables, attracting more city dwellers to visit and shop.
