Taishan UNESCO Global Geopark Museum

The Taishan Geopark Museum is located on the north side of Yuhua Taoist Courtyard at Dai Temple at the foot of Mount Tai in Tai’an City. Covering an area of 6,000 square meters with an exhibition space of 760 square meters, it was completed and opened to visitors in October 2005, and is an important part of the Taishan UNESCO Global Geopark.

The Taishan Geopark Museum consists of nine functional halls: Famous People and Mount Tai, Basic Geological Knowledge, “Exploring Mount Tai,” and others. The museum houses nearly 100 types of rock and mineral specimens, as well as over 50 types of animal and plant specimens. Through easy-to-understand texts and concise images, it provides visitors with comprehensive and detailed insights into basic geological knowledge, the unique geological resources of Mount Tai, its long cultural history, diverse species, and research findings related to the geology of Mount Tai.

The Taishan Geopark Museum employs various display methods such as sound, light, electricity, and multimedia. A large panoramic sand table of Mount Tai is directly connected to a large screen, enabling synchronized audio and visual demonstrations. Visitors can effortlessly step into the fascinating world of earth sciences through firsthand observation, hands-on interaction, and immersive experiences in a rich scientific atmosphere.

Today, the Taishan Geopark Museum serves as a unique platform to introduce, promote, popularize, discuss, and exchange knowledge about the rich geological significance, profound cultural heritage, and beautiful natural landscapes of Mount Tai. It attracts visitors from all over the world with its distinctive charm.
