Happy Three Miles

On Mount Tai, there is a section called Happy Three Miles, located north of Zhongtianmen and also known as Happy Mountain. The name refers to a stretch of about three miles of flat, easy path that suddenly appears amid the strenuous climb, making the hike unusually effortless and joyful. This brings instant relief to weary hikers, lightening their fatigue, hence the name "Happy Three Miles."

Halfway up Mount Tai lies a section of path about three miles long with flat terrain and beautiful scenery. Tired visitors often take a rest here, feeling as carefree as immortals—thus earning the name "Happy Three Miles." However, experienced hikers never stop here, because once they rest and let their legs go slack, climbing the more challenging "Eighteen Bends" ahead becomes even more difficult.
