Yutai County Museum

Yutai Museum is a regional museum located in Yutai County, situated in the Civic Center and open to the public free of charge.

The exhibition hall is divided into four units

Unit 1: Dawn of Civilization, Traces of Early Settlers (Neolithic Period), comprising 3 exhibition rooms. This section primarily showcases the long-standing early civilization of the Yutai region, highlighting its historical depth and regional characteristics through the display of representative sites and relics from the Neolithic Age.

Unit 2: Capital of the Shang Kings, Hometown of Filial Virtue (Pre-Qin Period), comprising 3 exhibition rooms. It introduces the story of King Zu Yi’s capital relocation and displays representative sites and relics, narrating the historical background of Yutai’s establishment as a city and reflecting the diligence and wisdom of its ancestors.

Unit 3: Rise of the City – Elegance (Qin and Han Dynasties), including four parts: the Fangyu City Ruins (county-level, Qin and Han Dynasties), the Suiji Tomb Cluster (provincial-level, Han Dynasty), Great—Emotion, and Artisanal Stone Charm.

Unit 4: Relocating the City for Flood Control – The Spirit of the Great River. This unit incorporates elements of the Yellow River, an important component of Chinese civilization. The rich collection of cultural relics carries the shared historical memory of the people in the Yanhuang region. Yutai Museum strengthens the protection and inheritance of Yellow River culture, consciously becoming a promoter and participant in safeguarding Yellow River culture among museums along the river.

As a non-profit permanent institution open to the public and serving society and its development, the museum has always played an important functional role as the second classroom of human schools. As an important part of Yutai County’s public cultural service system, Yutai County Museum will continue to enhance its level of free access in future work, engage more with the general public, and organize a richer variety of public education activities.
