Changgou Grape Garden is located by the ancient canal in Changgou Town, adjacent to the Ridayu Expressway to the north. Grape cultivation in Changgou began in 1984. Over thousands of years, the sedimentation of shells, fish, and other organic materials from the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal has created nutrient-rich soil abundant in calcium, phosphorus, potassium, and trace elements, providing natural nourishment for grape growth. The grapes produced here are renowned in Jining City and surrounding provinces, cities, and districts for their large size, juicy texture, high sugar content, pure flavor, and vibrant color.

In 1994, Changgou Grape Garden registered the “Changgou” trademark with the State Administration for Industry and Commerce. In August 2004, it passed the pollution-free agricultural product origin certification by the Shandong Provincial Department of Agriculture, and obtained pollution-free agricultural product certification in December of the same year. “Changgou” brand grapes have entered international markets in East Asia and Southeast Asia. In 2009, Changgou Grape Garden was successfully established as a Shandong Provincial Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Site and awarded the Cultivation and Quality Control Demonstration Base by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Finance of China.

In 2010, the district tourism bureau raised over 6 million yuan to build more than 150 standardized sightseeing pavilions and a 3,000-meter grape arbor. During the grape ripening season, stepping into the Changgou Grape Garden, known as the “Pearl of the Canal,” visitors will find clusters of grapes glistening with dew. As a breeze drifts through the vineyard, green leaves sway and the fragrance of ripe fruit fills the air, creating a refreshing and delightful experience. The uniformly built sightseeing pavilions, with their blue roofs and white walls, are neatly arranged along the sightseeing corridor, presenting a spectacular view. Leveraging the grape arbor, the Rencheng District Tourism Bureau has launched tour programs such as the “Changgou Grape Festival” and the “Changgou Grape Garden Picking and Tasting One-Day Tour.”
