The Chongjue Temple Iron Pagoda is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Chongjue Temple Iron Pagoda is located in Chongjue Temple within Jining City, Shandong Province.

The Chongjue Temple Iron Pagoda was originally an octagonal, seven-story pavilion-style tower. It was initially constructed as an eight-sided, seven-level pavilion-style pagoda, but was renovated in the ninth year of the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty (1581 AD) and expanded to nine stories, reaching a total height of 23.8 meters. The base of the pagoda consists of a brick-built octagonal platform, with a door on the southern side. The interior ceiling features a caisson dome, and inside there are stone-carved Thousand-Hand Buddha statues from the Song Dynasty and a pagoda inscription from the seventh year of the Guangxu era of the Qing Dynasty (1881 AD). The body of the pagoda is octagonal, with its interior filled with brickwork. Each level is equipped with eaves, balconies, and railings, and both the eaves and balconies feature bracket sets. The finial is a gilded vase-shaped ornament. Each level of the pagoda has doors on four sides, with niches and Buddha statues on the other four. Inscriptions reading "Da Song Chongning Yiyou (1105 AD)" can be found on the first and second levels. Originally, wind chimes hung around the eaves, though few remain today. All components of the iron pagoda were cast in molds that mimic wooden architectural forms, reflecting not only the structural styles of Song Dynasty architecture but also demonstrating the advanced casting techniques of the period.
