Jining Huitong Bridge

Jining Huitong Bridge is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Shandong Province.

Jining Huitong Bridge is located in Jiyang Subdistrict, downtown Jining City, dating back to the Yuan and Ming dynasties.

On October 10, 2013, Jining Huitong Bridge was designated as part of the fourth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the Shandong Provincial People's Government.

Jiyang Subdistrict: Located in the western part of Jining urban area, the subdistrict government is based on Shuiwu Street. The area contains the ruins of the ancient Rencheng city, where former temples such as Cideng Temple and Huangjing Pavilion once stood, though none remain today.

It is named after Jiyang Street, which was formerly known as Ji’an Street, named after Ji’an Gate. Ji’an Gate derived its name from Ji’an Platform, a Ming dynasty artillery fort built on an earthen rampart in the southwestern part of the old city. This fort served a defensive purpose, hence the name Ji’an (meaning “peaceful security”) Platform.
