Danggudui Site

The Danggudui Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Jining City.

The Danggudui Site is located in Dangzhuang Village, Changgou Town, Rencheng District, Jining City. It dates back to the Neolithic Age and is classified as an ancient site.

On April 17, 1985, the Danggudui Site was designated as a municipal-level cultural heritage protection unit of Jining City.

Changgou Town: Changgou Town in Rencheng District, Jining City, is a major commercial town along the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and was historically a renowned hub for both waterway and overland transport. It lies to the north of Liangshan Lake (Water Margin Mountain), east of Qufu—the hometown of Confucius—south of the vast Weishan Lake, and west of Heze, known as the “Peony Capital.” The town governs 52 administrative villages, with a total population of 60,000 and a total area of 65 square kilometers. Blessed with integrated landscapes and abundant local specialties, the town enjoys a superior geographical location and convenient transportation by both water and land.
