Xianghu Lake is located in the western suburbs of Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, and is a picturesque tourist destination. The lake is formed by the convergence of waters from the South River, North River, East River, West River, and Qing Shan Lake. Its layout on the map resembles the shape of an elephant, hence the name "Xianghu" (Elephant Lake). Within the lake lies the site of Wanshou Palace, situated on a small island, with a total area of about 60 mu, known as the "Prayer Island." The architectural complex on the island covers an area of approximately 4,600 square meters and is the Zhengyi sect Taoist sanctuary — Nanchang Wanshou Palace. It shines like a pearl embedded in the entire Xianghu Scenic Area and is also referred to as the "sacred site within the scenery."
