As the hot summer arrives, many people plan to vacation on islands or play by the sea. But Taiwan is home to many cool and refreshing waterfall hideaways that are perfect for beating the heat—take a break during the holidays and get ready to chill out with some ice-cold fun.

1.Shihfen Waterfall
 
While Pingxi's Sky Lantern Festival is quite famous, not far away lies a picturesque scenic wonder: Shihfen Waterfall Park. Standing 20 meters high and 40 meters wide, Shihfen Waterfall is not only the widest waterfall in Taiwan but is also regarded by travel channels around the world as one of the most gorgeous waterfalls globally.

2.Xinxian Waterfall
 
Located within Neidong Forest Recreation Area in Wulai, New Taipei City, this area retains its ecological environment remarkably well and represents the northern Taiwan low-altitude stream and gorge ecology. The area's highlight is the three-tiered Xinxian Waterfall, which boasts abundant water flow and a majestic rush, offering visitors a chance to experience the splendor of nature.

3.Qingyun Waterfall
 
Qingyun Waterfall is a renowned waterfall in Siraya National Scenic Area. In the past, young Tsou tribe members had to jump off the waterfall to prove they were adults. Now, it has become a romantic dating spot. When the waterfall is at full force, the roaring waters cascade down, and the noise of the rushing water creates a dramatic backdrop. Couples holding hands while the waters converge below make the waterfall their witness, which is why it's also known as Lovers’ Waterfall.

4.Wanggu Waterfall
 
The Lingjiaoliao Mountain hiking trail showcases a variety of natural vegetation such as acacia trees, camellia trees, and snake root grass. Along the way, you’ll pass by the Lingjiaoliao Trilogy (Tsai Family Western-style House, Wanggu Waterfall, and Lingjiaoliao Ancient Bridge), where you can get up close to the beauty of Wanggu Waterfall. It's one of the rare urban hidden paradises.
