Hidden Paradise Waterfall Secret Spot Overlooking Taiwan’s Version of the Three Gorges

Located in Dapu Township, Chiayi, along the Zengwen River system, besides the well-known Zengwen Reservoir attraction, there is also a hidden paradise-like secret spot — Qingyun Waterfall. This is a renowned waterfall landscape within the Siraya National Scenic Area. In the past, Tsou boys had to jump down from the top of the waterfall to be considered adults, but now it has become a popular dating spot for couples. When the water flow is abundant, the cascading waters from the top, accompanied by thunderous sounds, come together at the base. Couples holding hands while the waterfall witnesses them below have also given it the nickname “Lover’s Waterfall.”

The pool at Qingyun Waterfall is expansive, surrounded by mountain cliffs, resembling an otherworldly paradise. Passing by Dapu Bridge nearby, you can also take in the majestic valleys and streams of the Siraya Scenic Area, with vast views reminiscent of the breathtaking Three Gorges of the Yangtze River. Then, standing quietly beneath the waterfall, you can feel your mind, body, and soul being cleansed along with the stream of water — incredibly relaxing.
