This Lianfa Taro Ice is truly an old shop that’s been around for ages. The ice they sell is similar to the classic "baba bing," which refers to the kind of ice peddled by street vendors. Back in the day, there were no ice creams, sorbets, or frozen yogurts — so this is the real deal in terms of old-school ice treats.

Located on Qingyun Road in Toucheng, it sits right across from the famous A-Zong Ice City.

As soon as you step into the store, you’ll be struck by how vibrant and colorful it is!! Haha, the shop owner has crammed all kinds of info (Toucheng tourist spots, media interviews, MENU product details) into this space.

There’s even a marble game table at the counter.

The flavors are incredibly diverse.

All the ice treats are displayed in the freezer.

So many flavors are delicious, but in the end I picked three: the red pitaya flavor, the signature taro ice, and the intensely fragrant guava ice.

All three flavors were absolutely delicious, with a rich, creamy texture that instantly brought back childhood memories of eating baba bing. All three were great, but the guava ice with its strong, aromatic flavor was probably the most unforgettable — absolutely scrumptious.

The shop has also come up with several creative ways to enjoy the ice, like bread ice cream, toast ice cream, and even spring roll ice cream — it’s quite similar to Yilan’s local peanut roll ice cream.
