Nanchang Museum

Established in 1984, Nanchang Museum is a comprehensive regional museum primarily dedicated to collecting historical relics that represent and reflect the long-standing culture and history of Nanchang and Jiangxi Province. It is also committed to the research and promotion of the region’s historical heritage. The museum currently houses a wide range of precious cultural relics, including ceramics, bronzes, coins, stoneware, jade artifacts, lacquerware, and wooden artifacts, among which the celadon ware from the Hongzhou Kiln is particularly distinctive.

Nanchang Museum currently has 20 full-time staff members, 15 of whom are professional technicians, providing strong technical support for the research of Nanchang’s historical culture and relics, as well as the development of the museum itself.

Nanchang Museum currently operates two exhibition venues, located at Guanying City Tower and Shengjin Pagoda Qianfo Temple. The first floor of Guanying City Tower hosts the permanent exhibition “Two Thousand Years of Nanchang History.” Shengjin Pagoda Qianfo Temple features exhibitions such as “Photo Exhibition of Cultural Relics Unearthed from the Shengjin Pagoda Crypt and Stupa” and “Photo Exhibition of ‘The Song of Righteousness in China.’” To meet visitors' desire to learn about history and cultural relics, the museum actively engages in inter-museum exchanges and organizes various thematic temporary exhibitions.

Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00–17:00 (last admission at 16:30), closed on Mondays (except public holidays)
