The site of General Ye Ting’s former prison cell in Licun is located in Licun, Zaotou Township, Shangrao County. It was originally a guesthouse for high-ranking officers of the Kuomintang’s Third War Zone. This is an ordinary single-family residence in the natural village of Jiangnan, featuring independent housing with red walls, bucket arches, a flush gable roof, and brown ceramic tiles. There is an open-air courtyard in the southwest corner. In January 1941, following the Southern Anhui Incident — a critical moment for preserving the revolutionary forces of the New Fourth Army under the command of General Ye Ting — after orderly engagement with the enemy and negotiations that were soon to be held in She County, Anhui, he was escorted to Shangrao Concentration Camp and detained at Qifeng, then held in Licun for several days. General Ye Ting’s cell faces the northwest, toward the courtyard. Following the Southern Anhui Incident, senior cadres of the New Fourth Army who had been captured were imprisoned here. General Ye Ting was held for six months, engaging in active resistance against the enemy. He wrote on the wall: “Wealth and rank cannot corrupt me, nor can might and power bend me — indeed, firm resolve stands unshaken, three months’ trials surpass ten years of reading” and other poems. Unfortunately, these illuminating verses and drawings were destroyed by the military police and no longer exist.

The “Shangrao Concentration Camp” site is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.
