Xia Yan (1482–1548), styled Gongjin and also known as Guizhou, was a native of Guixi (now Guixi, Jiangxi). He passed the imperial examination in the 12th year of the Zhengde reign (1517) and rose to the positions of Minister of Personnel and Grand Secretary of Huagai Hall. He was posthumously honored with the title “Wenmin.” Renowned for his exceptional talent and leadership, his calligraphy was highly esteemed across the land. His steles and fine silks were treated as priceless treasures. His regular and running scripts were vigorous and elegant, though sometimes overly plump and stiff, or mature yet naive. His inscriptions on plaques were particularly remarkable. He died at the age of sixty-seven. — “Art Garden Random Talks” and “Records of High-Ranking Officials”

Qin Feng Town: Qin Feng Township is located to the east of Shangrao City. The entire township mainly features a hilly landscape, stretching along the Xin River. It borders Guangfeng County to the east, Lingxi Town to the west, Chaoyang Township to the south, and Shaxi Town to the north. The township government is located in Zhaojia Village, Qin Feng Village. The total area of the township is 59 square kilometers, with cultivated land spanning 18,936 mu (including 16,128 mu of paddy fields). The population is 34,900, and it administers 13 administrative villages and 132 villager groups.

By deepening institutional reforms and vigorously encouraging the development of private and individual economies, there are now 584 joint households and individual businesses.
