Tiangui Rock

Tiangui Rock is another beautiful scenic area in Guangfeng. The Tang Dynasty Taoist Lu Yan once practiced alchemy here, and it has long been known as the “Number One Grotto-Heaven of Jiangdong.” It earned its name from the ancient osmanthus trees that once grew in front of the rock. The central cave is over 10 meters high and wide enough to hold over a thousand people. Inside, the bizarrely shaped rocks are strikingly diverse, while the stone walls feature naturally formed exotic animals and birds that look remarkably lifelike. The Tiangui Rock cave contains caves within caves, offering yet another world of wonder. There is also a “stone chamber” inside the cave that resembles a bedroom and kitchen setup—all naturally formed. Among the rocks is the “Little Grotto-Heaven,” where people once minted coins in ancient times, hence it is also called the “Fake Treasure Notes.” The surrounding area features the “Eight Scenic Spots of Tiangui,” all of which are truly captivating.
