Located next to the National Father Memorial Hall, Liu Zhenchuan Japanese-Korean Gourmet Restaurant has been open for nearly six years and is Taiwan’s first eatery to offer individual Korean-style mini hot pots. In addition to its innovative “grilled dual-style” unique dining method, the restaurant offers over 20 types of stews. It emphasizes oil-free cooking and avoids using reconstituted meat, aiming for customers to enjoy the most natural flavors of ingredients. The best part is that no à la carte item exceeds 300 NT$, offering very high cost-performance.
The restaurant offers three set meal options if you choose a combo. For an additional 138 NT$, you can enjoy the “Fresh Vegetable and Sliced Meat Hot Pot,” which includes seasonal vegetables, one pack of Korean ramen, and a choice of beef or pork slices; for an additional 98 NT$, you can get seaweed fluff mixed rice and seafood soup; for an additional 68 NT$, you can enjoy a cola or freshly brewed black tea along with ice cream.

Dried Squid and Scallop Pork Belly Hot Pot
Ingredients include small octopus, scallops, and marinated meat. Even after cooking for a long time, they won’t become too tough or dry. The shop emphasizes that all their stews are seasoned with Korean chili paste, providing a slight kick and an authentic Korean flavor. The cabbage is pre-mixed with sauce before being added to the pot, giving it a uniquely flavorful stir-fry taste. Many customers ask whether the octopus is live, as in many Korean restaurants. The owner laughs and says, “For safety reasons, to prevent customers from choking, we don’t use live octopus.”

Cheese Kimchi Pork Belly Hot Pot
The restaurant’s stews are all mildly spicy, but this one is even more intense due to the kimchi and rice cakes. Besides using homemade kimchi, the combination of rice cakes and cheese aroma, together with the meat’s fragrance, creates a complementary effect that is very popular with consumers.

Seafood Pancake
The Seafood Pancake is made with shrimp and squid. The squid emits a fragrant aroma during the cooking process, resulting in a chewy texture, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, Q-textured and thick. Its taste is similar to many other pancake offerings on the market, but one thing worth mentioning is that the ratio of ingredients used in the restaurant is fixed. All ingredients are carefully selected to ensure consistent quality.
