Tian Guiyan Rock Carvings

The Tian Guiyan Rock Carvings are a cultural relic protection unit of Jiangxi Province.

Tian Guiyan is located on the mountainside south of Paishan Town, Guangfeng County, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province, China. It is a limestone karst cave, named after the osmanthus trees that once grew at its entrance in ancient times. Tian Guiyan, along with Dongyan and Baihuayan, is collectively known as the "Three Rocks of Guangfeng."

Above the cave entrance is a huge rock inscribed with three large red characters reading “Tian Gui Yan” (天桂巗), with the left side credited to “Ding Ji of Jingkou.” There are also some smaller carvings near the entrance, but due to natural weathering and human damage, many of the inscriptions have become illegible.

The Tian Guiyan Rock Carvings were listed as a cultural relic protection unit of Jiangxi Province in 1987.

Paishan Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Guangfeng County. In 1958, the Paishan Commune was established, which was reorganized as a township in 1984 and upgraded to a town in 1993. It is located in the northern part of the county, along the middle reaches of the Paishan Stream, 9 kilometers from the county seat. Covering an area of 58.8 square kilometers, it has a population of 32,000. The Guang (feng)–Guan (cun) Highway runs through the central part of the town. The town administers 14 village committees: Paishan, Guojia, Sanshibaodu, Dun Tou, Changmafeng, Tangshang, Huangshi, Zicun, Paimen, Wangkeng, Hewu, Xishandi, Xiayu, and Yupoduan.
