Dongpiling Cultural Site

The Dongpiling Cultural Site is located about 3 kilometers northeast of Tangpu Town and 1 kilometer from the Pu River (Tangpu River). During the district-wide cultural relics survey in November 1981, three stone axes, dozens of pottery fragments, three stone adzes, and one tripod leg were unearthed at the site. According to archaeologists, the Dongpiling Cultural Site belongs to the cultural remains of the Spring and Autumn Period.

Tangpu Town: Tangpu Town is situated in the eastern part of Yifeng County, bordering Xinzhuang Town to the east, Chengtang Town to the west, Shanggao County to the south, and Huaqiao Township to the north. It stretches 9 kilometers from east to west and 16 kilometers from north to south, covering a total area of 115 square kilometers. The town government is located in Tangpu Township, at the intersection of the Yiyang Highway and the Shangfeng Highway, 23 kilometers from the county seat and 114 kilometers from the provincial capital, Nanchang.

Tangpu Town was historically known as Xin'an Township until the Qing Dynasty. During the Republican era, it served successively as the site of the Sixth District and the Third District.
