Ruins of the Huangsha Battle at Longnao Mountain and the Former Site of the Divisional Command Post
The ruins of the Huangsha Battle are located in Huangsha Village, Tianbao Township, Jiangxi Province. Huangsha Village is a small settlement nestled among mountains. To the east lies Longxing Mountain, to the north Ziyang Altar, to the west Lixinao, and to the south a small ravine. The overall terrain resembles the mouth of a winnowing basket—easy to defend but hard to attack. On February 3, 1934, the Huangsha Battle, commanded by General Xiao Ke, commander of the 17th Division of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, was fought on the eastern mountain of the village. Inside the village stands a monument commemorating the victory of the Huangsha Battle.
