Dehua Daixian Waterfall is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Daixian Lake National Water Conservancy Scenic Area is situated in the towns of Shuikou and Nancheng in the eastern part of Dehua County, spanning a total area of 35 square kilometers. With the streams of these two towns serving as the main thread, the scenic area weaves together four zones — the Daixian Lake Leisure Area (Yongkou Reservoir), the Daixian Waterfall Sightseeing Area, the Rafting Adventure Area, and the Hot Spring Resort Area — into a stunning “one waterway connecting four zones” landscape.

The Daixian Lake Leisure Area is located in the center of Shuikou Town, Dehua County. Natural features such as Chuan Dao Mountain, Xia Shi Mountain, Bei Yao Li Inner Lake, Da Yun Shan Inner Lake, Hu Lu Keng Inner Lake, and farmland on Hu Wei Shan add immense charm to the scenic beauty of Daixian Lake. Cultural highlights including Long Shan Palace, Wu Shi Pavilion, the Martyrs’ Monument, and ancient ferry stone tablets further enrich its historical and cultural value.

Traveling upstream along the Chishi Stream leads to the Daixian Waterfall Sightseeing Area, where you can admire the “No.1 Waterfall in East China” — the Daixian Twin Waterfalls. Originating from Shiniu Mountain, the Chishi Stream starts at Zhaijin in Huban Village, Shuikou Town, and flows past the majestic Feixian Mountain peaks before cascading down a 139-meter-high cliff.

The waterfall splits into two streams. The eastern stream is the Daixian Waterfall, while the western one is the Youlou Waterfall. The Daixian Waterfall plunges straight down with a thunderous roar, presenting an awe-inspiring spectacle. The Youlou Waterfall, 110 meters wide, resembles a silver blanket inlaid in the rock face. When sunlight shines directly on it, it looks like a curtain of pearls hanging down. Together, the two waterfalls create a breathtaking scene. The Daixian Waterfall is one of the largest in the province and a rare find nationwide.

In the Nancheng Town area, the Rafting Adventure Area and the Hot Spring Resort Area offer thrilling options such as rafting on the Shilong Stream, peaceful bamboo raft drifting on the Taixian Stream, or relaxing at the comfortable and elegant Tangkeng Hot Springs for a therapeutic experience.
