To promote Changhua County as the “Kingdom of Bicycles” and the “Kingdom of Flower Production and Sales,” the Changhua County Government will hold the “Xizhou Fizzlow Park Family Bike Ride” on April 13, inviting the public to cycle at Fizzlow Park. Registration is free and runs from today until April 3.

Changhua County Deputy Magistrate Ko Cheng-fang stated that Changhua is a major hub for the bicycle industry, with over half of the island’s upstream, midstream, and downstream bicycle-related businesses located in the county. The area also boasts an extensive network of cycling leisure routes. In addition, following in Taipei’s footsteps, Changhua is planning the first YouBike public bicycle rental system in central Taiwan, which is expected to be completed by July this year.

To help more people discover this new cycling route, the “Xizhou Fizzlow Park Family Bike Ride” will be held on April 13, inviting the public to enjoy world-class recreational fun together at Fizzlow Park.

Deputy Magistrate Ko pointed out that to develop tourism in southern Changhua and connect existing leisure attractions, the county government drew inspiration from Melbourne, Australia—ranked the world’s most livable city—and modeled the area after Melbourne’s Fizzlow Park. By integrating the region’s unique floral, nursery, rural, and industrial resources, the existing Xizhou Park has been developed into a Changhua version of Fizzlow Park, incorporating forested areas and nursery zones. With its distinct seasonal scenery, picturesque landscapes, smooth and comfortable roads, and well-developed infrastructure, the route attracted over 630,000 visitors in just 10 days during the Lunar New Year “Flowers in Changhua” series of events. It has successfully drawn tourists and become a new favorite among cyclists.
