Daqing Palace

Daqing Palace is located in Dingqian Village, Longxun Town, in the southern suburbs of Dehua County. It still preserves historical relics such as stone beams, stone arch bridges, and inscribed steles donated by successive county magistrates of Dehua from the 20th year of the Shaoxing era in the Southern Song Dynasty (1150 AD) to the 32nd year of the Wanli era in the Ming Dynasty (1605 AD). This shows that Daqing Palace has a history of over 800 years and has been well-known since early times, enjoying special favor from the government. In recent years, devotees and charitable organizations from both home and abroad have raised nearly 3 million yuan to restore the “aged” ancient palace, giving it a renewed, magnificent appearance. It has been developed into a venue that combines religious cultural activities with tourism and leisure. The palace is now bustling with incense and thronged with visitors.

Daqing Palace was approved and designated as a fourth batch of county-level cultural relic protection unit by the People’s Government of Dehua County in 1988. It still preserves historical relics such as stone beams, stone arch bridges, and inscribed steles donated by successive county magistrates of Dehua from the 20th year of the Shaoxing era in the Southern Song Dynasty (1150 AD) to the 32nd year of the Wanli era in the Ming Dynasty (1605 AD). In recent years, it has been rebuilt and a circular park along the stream has been constructed, featuring additional landscapes such as rockeries, fountains, twelve zodiac Huian stone sculptures, and long mythological story relief fences. It currently serves as the headquarters of the Dehua County Taoist Association. The palace enshrines the deity Baosheng Dadi (the Emperor of Medicine), Wu Tao. Every year on the 15th day of the third lunar month, people offer "large turtle" displays as tribute to pray for favorable weather, national prosperity, and peace—a spectacular sight.
