Dongshang Pottery Village is a national AA-level tourist attraction.

Dongshang Pottery Village, situated in Caijing Village, Sanban Town, Dehua County — the World Capital of Ceramics — is only 2 kilometers from the urban area. It is a national-level protected demonstration base for traditional dragon kiln wood-fired and handmade ceramic production techniques, a cultural and creative base for contemporary art creation, exchange, and exhibitions, as well as a training and practice ground and co-working space for art students and pottery enthusiasts from both domestic and international art institutions. It has been awarded the titles of Quanzhou Municipal Cultural Industry Demonstration Base and Fujian Provincial Cultural Industry Demonstration Base.

Surrounded by rolling hills and shaded by lush pines and bamboos, Dongshang Pottery Village enjoys a serene and picturesque environment. The ancient wood-fired firing techniques, simple and elegant antique ceramics, naturally open studios, and homely rural guesthouses create a tranquil atmosphere. The 400-year-old Yueji Kiln still emits smoke to this day. There’s no noisy traffic or mechanical racket — only the rustic charm of nature.

Artists who come here to create can simply move in with their bags and enjoy comprehensive services provided by the village, including meals, accommodation, as well as raw materials, technical support, and equipment necessary for creation and production. They can also engage in face-to-face exchanges and learning with artists from other regions. Working and residing here offers a more authentic artistic experience.

Dongshang Pottery Village is imbued with a distinctive cultural ambiance, featuring ancient dragon kilns and dozens of pottery creation studios. It allows visitors to reflect on the past while experiencing modern creative energy. Since the establishment of the "Yueji Kiln International Contemporary Ceramic Art Center" in 2009 to the present-day Dongshang Pottery Village, it has become a window for Dehua ceramics to engage with the outside world and an important platform for international artist exchanges. It has attracted thousands of influential ceramic artists, sculptors, designers, scholars, and others from over 30 countries for vacationing, creating, exchanging ideas, and attending training programs. To date, it has successfully hosted numerous international ceramic art exchange events, including the "International Teapot Art Biennale," "International Ceramic Artists’ Wood-Firing Symposium," "International Art Institutions’ Student Summer Camp," and the "Asian Arts Festival • Dehua Wood-Fired Art Exhibition."
