Liaotianjian Kiln Site

The Liaotianjian Kiln Site is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

The Liaotianjian Kiln Site is located in Sanban Village, Sanban Town, Dehua County, and Zimei Village, Jiefu Township, Yongchun County, dating back to the Bronze Age.

Description: A sloping dragon kiln from the Bronze Age, with unearthed artifacts primarily consisting of primitive porcelain and a small number of pottery items. The vessel types include zun, jars, bowls, dou, spinning whorls, etc., with gray or yellowish-white bodies. A total of eight kiln remains have been discovered. The firebox is severely damaged, with only two sections of kiln walls remaining at the junction between the kiln chamber and the firebox. The kiln chamber is roughly rectangular in shape, gradually narrowing from the front to the rear, with an interior width of 1.24 meters at the front, 1.16 meters in the middle, and 1.11 meters at the rear.

Protected area: An extension of 30 meters outward from all sides of the site.

In 2018, the Liaotianjian Kiln Site was designated as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units by the People's Government of Fujian Province.

Sanban Village: Located in the central-northern part of Sanban Town and serving as the site of the town government, Sanban Village borders Kuidou Village and Baomei Village of Xunzhong Town to the northwest, faces Sibin Village and Dongshan Yang Village across a stream to the east, and adjoins Yongchun County to the south, approximately 10 kilometers from the county seat. The village covers an area of 5.14 square kilometers, comprising 16 villager groups divided among seven natural villages: Houfang Street, Chanbin, Caopu, Daxing, Huzishan, Jiaoban, and Shangliao. In 1999, the village had a population of 3,953, with 79 Communist Party members.
