Guide: The Zhuangyuan Street Cultural Tourism Characteristic Street is located on the back street of Dongjie in Licheng District and is a pedestrian street. This street connects to Zhongshan Road to the west and faces Dongjie to the north. In the middle section is the Xuanmiao Temple, which features a uniquely Quanzhou-style memorial archway, earning it the reputation as the “No. 1 Street in Fujian”;

Zhuangyuan Street is about 500 meters long, with an elegant environment, and mainly sells tourism cultural crafts and the like. The entire street is divided into three sections. The first section is an inner-courtyard pedestrian street, with corridor bridges connecting the second and third floors, and also features three memorial archways — “Coastal Land of Eminent Scholars,” “Tribute to the Maritime State,” and “Four-Gate Scholars.” There is a central civic leisure plaza covering over 700 square meters. The second section has three memorial archways at its entrance: “Benevolent Wind in Spring,” “Ancient Land of White Clouds,” and “Beginning of Great Prosperity.” On the walls on both sides of the plaza in this section are two large murals: “Zi Meeting Laozi” and “Laozi Leaving the Pass.” The third section’s most eye-catching feature is the imitation Song Dynasty stone memorial archway at the street entrance, engraved with the names of historical Zhuangyuan (top imperial examination scholars) from Quanzhou, such as Zeng Conglong, Liang Kejia, Zhuang Jichang, and Wu Lu. The Zhuangyuan stone archway and the adjacent reliefs “Carp Leaping Over the Dragon Gate” and “Fishing, Woodcutting, Farming, and Studying” reflect the profound cultural tradition of farming and scholarship passed down through generations in ancient Quanzhou.

Transportation: After getting off at the new bus station, you can take bus No. 33 or No. 2 to reach Zhonglou Station, where Zhuangyuan Street is right across the street.
