The former site of Meishi Academy is a cultural relic protection unit of Quanzhou City.

The Meishi Academy is located within the campus of Quanzhou No. 1 Middle School on Meishi Street in the northeast of the city. It measures 37 meters from east to west and 83 meters from north to south, with three courtyards in depth. The central part is the lecture hall, and the rear hall enshrines Luo Yifeng, with 48 rooms built on both sides.

On the west side, there is a rock that splits into five petals, resembling a plum blossom, hence called the Plum Blossom Stone. During the Ming Dynasty, Hanlin academician Luo Yifeng (Luo Lun) was demoted to Quanzhou and built a thatched cottage here for lectures. In the eighth year of the Jiajing era of the Ming Dynasty (1529), imperial censor Nie Bao and others built Yifeng Academy near the Plum Blossom Stone. It was rebuilt in the fifteenth year of the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty (1750) and renamed Meishi Academy. The academy has now been converted into the campus of Quanzhou No. 1 Middle School, but the Plum Blossom Stone remains.
