Former Site of the Quanzhou Central County Committee of the Communist Party of China

The former site of the Quanzhou Central County Committee of the Communist Party of China is a classic red tourism attraction.

The former site of the Quanzhou Central County Committee of the Communist Party of China is located in the wing room of the Chen family residence at No. 12 Cai Lane, Dong Street, Licheng District.

In August 1938, the Fujian Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China dissolved the Minzhong Working Committee and established three central county committees in Fuqing, Putian, and Quanzhou. The Party organizations in Quanzhou were led by the Quanzhou Central County Committee of the Communist Party of China, with Li Gang as the secretary. In July 1939, the Communist Party of China decided to form the Southern Fujian Special Committee by uniting the three central county committees in Putian, Fuqing, and Quanzhou, with Li Gang serving as the secretary and Deng Gongzhi acting as the secretary of the Quanzhou Central County Committee. From autumn 1938 to 1940, the Quanzhou Central County Committee carried out revolutionary activities at the former residence of Chen Zaizao at No. 12 Cai Lane, Dong Street, Quanzhou. In April 1940, the “Quanzhou Rice Riot” led to the exposure and arrest of some party members, forcing the central county committee to relocate from the Chen residence on Dong Street Cai Lane to Shudou.
