Immortal Palace Bridge

Immortal Palace Bridge, located about 200 meters downstream from Shengping Bridge in Aoyang Town, was built in the 43rd year of the Qianlong reign during the Qing Dynasty and is also known as Jade Belt Bridge. Its original construction date is unclear. In the 14th year of the Qianlong reign (1749), it was destroyed by floods and was rebuilt in the 43rd year of Qianlong. It was renovated in 1992. The bridge abutments at both ends are constructed with block stones. It is 27 meters long, 5.1 meters wide, and has a span of 24.5 meters. Running north to south, it features 17 bays and 72 pillars. The central bay of the bridge uses bracket sets to create an octagonal caisson ceiling, topped with a double-sloped roof, while the central bay and the end bays rise into octagonal spire roofs. The central beam of the bridge is inscribed with inked details of donors who contributed to its construction. A shrine is set up in the middle of the bridge, enshrining the Goddess Ma. The bridge is relatively well-preserved.
