Xixi, named after the discovery of stream stones bearing what appeared to be rhinoceros footprints on the riverbank of Xipu Village, is a Min Dong town with the charm of Jiangsu and Zhejiang. Located in Xixi Township, Shouning County, Ningde City, Fujian Province, and bordering Taishun in Zhejiang, it is a place of picturesque mountains and clear waters, with simple folkways and enchanting scenery. As a locale that embodies the refined beauty of southern Zhejiang’s countryside, Xixi can surely offer travelers the beauty and tranquility they seek. The origin of Xixi’s name is said to come from the discovery of stream stones marked with rhinoceros footprints on the riverbank of Xipu Village. Though the legendary footprints have long since disappeared, the breathtaking scenery that enchants visitors can still be found along the river upstream from Xipu Village. Xixi Cultural Ecotourism is centered around the Xixi River basin, rooted in culture and ecology, and distinguished by covered bridges and ancient architecture. It spans from Waishan Village and Niudang Mountain in Xixi Township in the north, to Xianfeng Village in the south, to Bijia Mountain in the west, and to the ridgeline of Changgangtou Mountain in the east, including areas such as Jiakeng and Shizhuzhou, covering an area of approximately 17.8 square kilometers. The distribution of tourism resources is characterized by a pattern of large dispersal and small concentrations, encompassing the Xipu Cultural Garden Village, the Xixi Ancient Architectural Complex, the Xixi Water Scenic Belt, the Jiakeng Red Tourism Site, the Bijia Mountain Mountain Scenic Belt, and the Shizhuzhou Gorge. Xixi Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Shouning County. In 1958, it was established as Hongqi Commune, renamed Xixi Commune in 1970, and became a township in 1984. Located in the eastern part of the county, it covers an area of 130 square kilometers with a population of 16,000. The Shouning–Taishun Highway passes through the town. It administers 11 village committees: Xixi, Lijiashan, Wuxi, Shanhou, Qikeng, Laijiayang, Dawangqian, Xipu, Xianfeng, Jiakeng, and Dujiayang.
